UNESCO POP-UP EVENT
Discover Dundee Designers Pop-Up Event
From 2nd to 4th May 2024, a collaborative pop-up event will be hosted at the UNESCO store located on Union Street. The event will see a mixture of Dundee-based designers, each with their signature style and ethos join hands to showcase their latest collections in a shared space, fostering an atmosphere of mutual support and creativity. Flyswats and Buckethat, Jo-AMI, and Dreamland Clothing set up shop for the weekend in the joint space, a selection of excellent caffeinated refreshments and baked goods will be provided by EH9 | ESPRESSO (SATURDAY with JAM Radio producing the weekend soundtrack.
Thursday the 2nd will be the event opening night, come along for a good time as we open doors from 5:30 - 9:00 with complimentary booze supported by UNESCO. Not only are they supporting the event with booze, but they are very kindly supplying the venue at their space on Union Street in the City Centre. JAM Radio will be providing the ooncy tunes all night with a multitude of DJs playing throughout. The Thursday night offers a social aspect for meeting the guys hosting the event, first dibs on any bits being sold as well as a good time with free drinks.
Friday-Saturday will be the main selling days for the event, with exclusives available from sellers along with discounts, giveaways, and more throughout the weekend. Doors opening from 10:00 and closing at 5:30 offer ample time for you to swing by, say hello, and cop some beautiful garms, not forgetting the refreshments from EH9 on the Saturday. Unfortunately, Dreamland will not be available on Saturday at the event, so be sure to swing by on the Friday to catch them. Fear not, however, as we have more planned on Saturday with the introduction of EH9 as well. Keep a close eye on socials as we edge closer to the opening dates.

MEET THE CREATORS
JO-AMI: Established in 2019 by Scottish MA Knitwear designer, Jo-AMI aims to promote the iconic Scottish knitwear industry, by creating garments and accessories that are cool, comfy, and considered. Their designs retain key Scottish nostalgic traits but developed into stylish pieces for our modern-day customers. Jo-AMI is innovative, relevant, and creative, producing collections that subvert the traditional notion of knitwear with a fun individual aesthetic, distinctive style, and strong use of colour.
DREAMLAND CLOTHING: Dreamland is a youthful, nostalgic, and energetic label. 1980s culture is integral to the design process, drawing heavily on inspirations from Saved by the Bell and Sottsass Memphis. The label is at the forefront of digital print, high-quality finishings, and styled to perfection with wearable silhouettes that capture a one-of-a-kind aesthetic. Excitingly, Dreamland is about so much more than vivid, bold designs. The brand has a huge following sweeping across social media, using the platforms to promote individual style, self-love, and positive living. Dreamland is offering the world unique clothing intertwined with a great, fun-loving message.
FLYSWATS AND BUCKETHATS: Flyswats-and-Buckethats is a Scottish clothing brand based in Dundee, that aims to provide high quality, sustainable products for a fair price for you. Started by two friends. One who can draw, and one who cannot. Designs showcase a multitude of expressive of dealing with getting rid of the pesky creatures from buses to gasmasks, the possibilities are endless. Since starting Flyswats-and-Buckethats, there has always been the intention of trying to give back to the community and placing an emphasis on trying to give to charities helping those suffering from substance misuse and mental health issues.
EH9|ESPRESSO:
EH9 is like a playgroup for adults. It’s quite a simple idea: Speciality Coffee, Bakes and Good People. That’s what we’re about. The most important thing to EH9, is that the local community has somewhere consistent and informal to escape to and listen to our OONCY tunes, and catch up with their mates. EH9 provides a welcoming environment to everyone, wherever we are! The Menu is focused because that keeps everyone happy. We’re talking; less waste, fresh products, happy baristas, and efficient service. For food, think bagels, vegan pastries, the world’s best brownies, and banging cookies. We’ll always have a full range of specialty coffee for people to try. If coffee isn’t your thing, we’ve got yah covered with tea, soft drinks, and hot chocolate.
JAM RADIO: Jam Radio is an Independent University Radio station, based in Dundee. Looking to connect local Dundee artists and listeners to help create a buzz within Dundee.
