Art in Dundee and the 2023 DJCAD Degree Show
Living in Dundee over these last four years has been an amazing time and I truly feel like it’s the creative place to be in Scotland. People say it’s up and coming, but I would say it’s already there. Throughout the last few years I’ve been to every exhibition the V&A has to offer and have also been able to attend the Dundee Design Festival!
DJCAD is the heart of the art scene in Dundee and I cannot recommend enough coming along and seeing for yourself what we have been up to, with the product and interaction degree show, ‘Bread and Butter’.
But don’t be fooled. This is not your ordinary loaf and spread. This is the showcase of the century where we unveil the most tantalising creations since sliced bread and maybe even before that.
Located on level 5 of DJCAD you can come see for yourself the wonderful work of our year group from the 20-28th of this month.
From furniture to apps to even AI we have it all on show for you to see the future of creativity, in the heart of this vibrant city. Don’t miss out!
Project by Lucas Ferguson , Digital Interaction Design fourth year.
For my final year at university I have decided to design a digital and physical product that allows grandchildren and grandparents to share memories in the same way. Taking on the style of BeReal where you get a notification to upload a memory to the app using a prompt and then again using the physical box as a way of collecting the memories from eachother at random.
It provides a spontaneous and a physical way of communicating between generations and pursuing meaningful reflection.
